On Saturday, 4th October 2014, The Brownies section of the Montserrat Guides Association (MGA) hosted an event that celebrated 100 years of Brownies. The event dubbed The Big Brownie Birthday Bash was attended by Brownies from the three Brownie Packs on island.

Having started on the 1st of January, 2014 right through to the end of school summer vacation period, Brownies across the United Kingdom have been marking the occasion. Various events took place to include special challenge activities, stay away camps, and trips numerous across the United Kingdom. The Montserrat Brownies opted to have a big Birthday party and fun day as its event to commemorate the landmark achievement for the Brownies.

The Brownie Leaders on island planned a fun day complete with Bouncy Castle, Face Painting, Games, and food. There was also a DJ on hand to provide musical entertainment.

Two major highlights of the day was the cutting of The Big Brownie Birthday Cake and the distribution of specially-branded Brownie bags.

The Brownies wish to express their sincere gratitude to Mrs Suju Davis for her more than generous contributions to the event. Mrs. Davis is Ambassador for the Montserrat Guides Association and fulfils this role exceptionally.

Special thanks also to persons in the community who have contributed their time and resources to the event.

Brownies on Montserrat is open to all girls ages 7-10. The organisation provides a fun environment for meeting new persons, learning new hobbies, exploring other cultures and enjoying the outdoors.
