A Brighter Day For Montserrat:  Local Talent Unite Hoping For A Better Montserrat

Since the first volcanic eruption in 1995, Montserrat has produced several musical works that captures the hope, fears and experiences of a people who have endured the unique experience of a volcano. Since that time Montserrat has also produced a plethora of artistes in various genres and from other Caribbean countries. On Friday 26th August 2016, Montserrat will witness the release of the most fascinating and unprecedented collaboration since the recording “We Are the World”. Shamo Production in conjunction with Montserrat’s aspiring talent in the Audio/Visual Arts, have come together to expose the local talent to the entire world.

The “Brighter Day Project” as it called will feature approximately 15 artistes on a single track called “Brighter Day”. The song written and produced by Shamar Gowe aka “Shamracq” is one of its kind, for never before has a locally produced song featured so many artistes from several genres. The artistes are also from several countries including Dominica, Jamaica, Guyana, Antigua, Dominican Republic and St. Vincent. The song was recorded

So significant is the song that Producer Shamracq feels it warrants an entire concert with performances from all the artistes. The featured are as follows:

Sharacq, Icultural, D’Niceness, Nyne, Ablaze, Rangla

One Note, Butterfly, Kwasi Ryan, DJ Tula

The concert will take place at Moose’s Place in Little Bay. Admission will be $10 and proceeds from the project will go toward the activating various marketing medium such as tempo, Come Chat Wid Mi, CIN, CEEN which reaches the Caribbean diaspora in North America, Canada and the UK for the Brighter Day song and music. Shamo Production also hope to raise fund to finish the development of the Better Timez riddim which will also feature individual records and video for some of these artist on the project.
