Memories of Hurricane Irma and Maria chasing me from the island of Nevis on my way home to Montserrat changed my life in the Caribbean, that I could not have anticipated. I found myself in Boston Labor Day weekend making funeral arrangements for my favorite Aunt—Alena White. What I didn’t anticipate was Hurricane Maria coming 8 days later—two Category 5 hurricanes in the Eastern Caribbean Sea that left many people coping with death, despair, destruction, relocation, major losses that became a way of life since September. This was truly a year where anything became possible. Resiliency and stamina would best describe how I coped with many of the challenges that occurred during this year.

As we enter the close of 2017, we are being given a huge boost of energy for our Divine Intentions to Manifest in Year 2018—our personal goals, our spiritual growth, an expansion of our love and compassion, and our connection to the Most High Creator Source God. During this holiday season, a new moon, Winter Solstice, beginning of a new year, a time of family gatherings, a time of giving and receiving, a time of love and joy, give yourself time to reconnect with loved ones, and set your course to manifest your dreams and aspiration in 2018.

December is also a time to review the past 12 months, so take time to go deep inside yourself and reflect on the good, the bad, the ugly in your life during 2017. Perfect time to review and release any conflicts within you. Perfect time to speak your Truth. Perfect time for self-enquiry without being judgmental will allow you to accept your losses, your defeats, your shame and disgrace, knowing it will give you the opportunity to release beating up on yourself, blaming yourself and others. It will allow you to be accountable to yourself and no one else. This will enable you to move forward in 2018 and step into your greatness.

Start journaling your thoughts by answering the following and continue to add your own list as you go along:

• What are some of your accomplishments that you are most proud?
• List all the blessings that you are most grateful for in 2017?
• What are the lessons learned and the experiences gained in 2017?
• What are you ready to release and let go (say bye bye) to that no longer serves you, including people, places and things?
• What are you ready to change in your life?
• What are some of the changes that you need to make to enjoy life and live a healthier lifestyle?
• What are some of our memories or lessons that you wish to implement into your life in 2018?
• What brings you joy in your area of work?

What is Divine Intention for 2018?

Detail a practical list of your personal & family goals you would like to accomplish next year. Create a statement of your list into a clear and concise paragraph. Ask yourself—what do I want; how do I get it; how does it serve my highest good; when do I plan to do it; and why do I want to do it. This gives you courage and clarity to move forward.
