Actors’ Flex 3 in Jamaica Focuses on Actors Workshop & Characterization

As promised, Actors’ Flex conceptualizer Fabian M. Thomas, Executive Director of Sankofa Arts & Facilitation will host the last session for 2019 on Saturday, November 30 at the National Volunteer Centre, 2D Camp Road from 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Entitled Acta Space an Characta Tings, Actors’ Flex 3 etiquette and best practices to successfully navigate those spaces, as well as a workshop will focus on familiarizing participants with the areas on stage (Pon di STAGE) and film (Pon SET) sets and the on characterization (Dis CHARACTA Ting). Thomas says he is additionally excited to have veteran Producer/Director Natalie Thompson as a guest facilitator this time around.

He beams:“I have known Natalie for years and have the utmost respect for her. She brings over forty years of local and international experience in advertising, television and film production to the mix. I was elated when she agreed to facilitate the Pon SET session! I will facilitate the other two.”

On a more solemn note, Thomas is dedicating Actors’ Flex 3 to his friend, colleague and former teacher Franklyn ‘Chappie’ St. Juste who was scheduled to do a master class in 2020, but died after a lengthy hospitalization earlier this month.

As usual, participants have the option of doing as many sessions as they choose. Those interested are encouraged to register early and make payment arrangements to secure their spot by e-mailing sankofaaf@gmail.com
