TORONTO, July 18, 2018 -  "Beauty with a Purpose" is the focus of this years Miss World Canada competition, as 56 inspiring young women from across the country will take to the stage to showcase their chosen goodwill project.

The search for Miss World Canada 2018 will be hosted in Toronto this summer on July 28th at the Lyric Theatre, Toronto Centre for the Arts. Fifty-six contestants from across Canada will participate in an exciting week of preparation and city-wide activities starting on July 22nd.

Torontonians are invited to join in the anticipation by attending the fashion show at The Addison's Residence, on July 27th, where the contestants will showcase clothing from Canadian designer Rachel Sin.

Executive Director and Former Miss World Canada 1996, Michelle Weswaldi of MTC-W Inc. (production company for Miss Teenage Canada and Top Model Search Canada) will be leading 2018's Miss World Canada pageant with a strong focus on "Beauty with a Purpose" as the contestants also work to raise money for official charity partner, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada. Last year's 2017 delegates were able to grant two wishes, with the average wish costing $10,000. "This year we hope to exceed that number," says Michelle. "In Addition to the charitable aspect, we have added a "Sports Challenge", the girls will be tested on their strength and balance at Hub Climbing & Yoga Fitness. Pageants aren't just about high-heels and runway, there are so many different elements. We are looking forward to enhancing the pageant with a charitable focus, new up-to-date criteria for contestants and an overall elevated week-long experience in the world-class city of Toronto," states Weswaldi, who obtained the rights to the pageant in 2017.

The pageant will be judged by familiar Toronto faces: Maui Radio Personality & Former Anchor at the Score; Caroline Frolic, Canadian Designer; Rachel Sin, Entertainment Tonight Canada Producer; Nicole Servinis, Life Coach, Author, Fitness & Bodybuilding Expert; Reza Zarmehr, and International Model turned Chemist, creator of MC2 beauty line Melani Chong, will be among the celebrity judging panel.

In addition to the fashion show at The Addison's Residence and the pageant on July 28th, Torontonians will be able to catch the contestants as they tour and enjoy the great city with pageant partners Yorkdale Mall, Pizza e Pazzi, DiVRge VR gaming, Clean Meals more.

The crowned winner of Miss World Canada will take the international stage in Sanya, China to compete for the title of Miss World 2018.
