Dominica's Tourism product has been cultivated by the Discover Dominica Authority with a unique authenticity at its core. The island has not gone the route of massive promotions of beaches and mega hotels with private enclaves as its main suite of offerings; instead what you receive on a visit to Dominica is nature at its purest - a true incarnation of eco-tourism is presented to all who visit the island either as a long gone returning resident, or a first time traveller seeking a new experience.

Nowhere else is Dominican's bond with nature more profound that in its incorporation of community tourism into its schedule; but more importantly here is an island that does not simply talk the talk when it comes to environmental preservation and an incorporation of holistic eco-tourism principles. The action undertaken is evident on the island for all who would care to take note. None more so than in the community of Bellevue Chopin where the principle of an organic village is very much in full flow in this area located on the south of the island.

The Bellevue Organic Farmers Association was formed in 2004 offering an expansive variety of organic farm products. They have also recently added a new composting facility located on the Broad Meadows Organic Farm; a farm which is located on what is known as the Rosehill Estate. Broad Meadows is and managed and maintained by Gordon Royer, his lovely wife and children.
