The Spotlighting and Promoting African Canadian Experiences (SPACE) Initiative, in the Harriet Tubman Institute for Research on Africa and Its Diasporas at York University invites youth ages 14-18 (or grade 9 to grade 12) to participate in its seventh Student Summer Program, "An Introduction to African Diasporas."
During fun and creative sessions, students will:
Experienced educators, facilitators, volunteers and students from York University will deliver all of the sessions. We are certain students will come away from the program having made new friends, probed their imaginations and gained artistic skills. Most importantly, they will leave with greater knowledge about the contributions of African peoples and cultures to the historical development of the world.
The program will run daily, Monday to Friday, for two weeks, from July 4 to July 15, 2016 at York University, from 8:30 am — 3:30 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
