The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada condemns the horrific attack that took place outside Finsbury Park Mosque and expresses its deepest condolences to the victims and families affected. It is reported that a van drove into a crowd of worshippers, killing at least one person and wounding 10 others. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at urges for calm and patience as authorities work swiftly to restore security and order.

Islam forbids all forms of terror and extremism. The Holy Qur’an teaches that killing even one innocent person is akin to killing all of mankind.

“We are deeply grieved by the senseless attack that took place outside Finsbury Park Mosque,” says National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada, Mr. Lal Khan Malik. “It is saddening that an attack on Muslims would take place in the special month of Ramadan – a time when Muslims are focusing on fasting, giving charity and praying peacefully.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada prays for solace and fortitude for all those left bereaved or affected in any way by this tragedy.
