Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, located downtown Toronto, was the venue to what was a by invitation only Caribbean Appreciation Evening, hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO). The evening was organised by the CTO to show their appreciation to workers in the travel trade and the media who continually do their part to showcase the Caribbean, and by extension assist in the development of the region.

According to CTO Communications Specialist, Johnson Johnrose, the evening was hosted as a special appreciation to; "demonstrate how much we value your unqualified support for the Caribbean."

The management of Ripley's Aquarium were kind to have closed off their facility to the general public for two and half hours, from 7:00PM - 9:30PM, so that CTO invitees could mingle, network and enjoy a private viewing of the Aquarium. Various types of sea-life are housed in the Aquarium ranging from the tiniest of sea-horses to huge sharks. The viewing and networking in such a calming environment was a pleasure for the invitees to the gathering.

Also on hand with booths displaying what their island has to offer were representatives from CTO members to include the USVI, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominica, Barbados. Also, West Jet Vacations and Magdalena Hotel had their representatives present showcasing their offerings within the Caribbean region.

Commendation must be extended to the CTO for their consideration in putting together this event to show their gratitude to members of the travel trade and the media for the work they do daily in spreading information far and wide about the Caribbean region.
