Dine to Donate's first fundraising contest brings together some of Toronto's most innovative and socially conscious restaurants to support the city's leading advocates for hunger and poverty reduction, including Second Harvest, the Toronto Vegetarian Food Bank, Nellie's Shelter, Haven Toronto, and Elizabeth Fry Toronto.
The contest can be entered through the purchase of a $25 entry or submission of a 250-word original essay, with no limit to the number of entries per person.
The Carbon Bar, Miku, Barsa Taberna, Awai, Adega, Eastside Social, Pollyanna, and Cherry St. BBQ headline this innovative fundraising effort.
"These outstanding establishments share something other than great food, service and atmosphere. The management and employees care deeply about the communities they serve," says Ramak Jaberi, Dine to Donate's founder. "Our foundation's aim is to empower restaurateurs and their patrons to make a difference in their communities and celebrate our city's world-class culinary scene through unique and memorable fundraising initiatives."
While one lucky winner receives the grand prize of eight meals-for-two with an approximate value of $1,500, each $25 entry helps alleviate hunger for many throughout our city.
