Zea is described as "a passionate and avid reader."

Four-year-old Zea Ali, who lives in London, UK, has written and published her very first book titled 'Zea Goes to Big School.' This new addition to the world's children's book catalogue is aimed at children about to start Kindergarten/Reception. It captures the build up of nerves that both children and their parents feel as they approach the start of that excitingly new chapter in their lives commonly termed as "Big school".

Written fully by Zea Ali, the honours of editing the book was done by Zea's Mom, Lesa Ali  (formerly Lesa Pemberton), who hails the village of Salem, on the island of Montserrat.

To date, Zea's book has sold around 80 copies in the US, UK, Japan and the Caribbean. It has also been very well received by both children and their parents. One reader of Zea Goes to Big School, gives their review in stating;

The book was self published via Amazon, and was released to celebrate World Book Day earlier this year.

A key element of Zea Goes to Big School is that it celebrates the Black family.

Zea's Editor tells MNI that they believe it is important that children in the Black Community see characters in books that they feel represents them." Thus, in the quest for helping children fall in love with the book, it was essential that the book was created with a Black family theme.

To get a further insight as to what inspired this book, the four-year-old writer, Zea Ali, has been tested as a gifted child. This means that Zea has a higher learning potential in comparison to her peers.

MNI understands that giftedness manifests itself differently in different children, and for Zea, MNI has been informed that her giftedness shows in the areas of language and solving complex puzzles.

Furthermore, we understand that one significant aspect of gifted children is a high level of anxiety, which Zea herself experienced in the lead up to starting school - mostly around the social aspects of school life, such as making friends and other such interactions.

Zea is described as "a passionate and avid reader." At such she was encouraged to document the way she was feeling along the journey from pre-school to the start of school.  This documentation resulted in the book Zea Goes To Big School.
