TORONTO, Ont - Get ready to break out the controllers. EGLX, Canada's largest gaming convention, will unite 15,000 avid gamers for the ultimate fandom experience this March in Toronto.

"We are ecstatic to celebrate the gaming community by bringing together innovative developers, competitors and overall fans," said Menashe Kestenbaum, Founder & CEO of Enthusiast Gaming. "This year at EGLX, we plan to showcase new technology and introduce playable games which take the user's experience to the next level."

EGLX runs from March 9-11, 2018 at The International Centre in Toronto, featuring an expanded virtual reality zone, where guests will be able to demo virtual games and discover specialized arcades opening in the GTA. There will also be a retro gaming zone, where gamers can play on classic consoles and swap childhood gems.

"It is important to us that we represent all types of gamers," said show manager Jason Lepine. "Guests attending EGLX 2018 will be able to explore old and new innovations, and experience gaming content in all formats."

In addition to gaming zones, gamers will be able to interact with special guests and attend creative influencer panels. Headlining EGLX, the entire YouTube rosters of Hidden Block and Normal Boots will be present to compete for the first time during an energized multiplayer event.

"The battle between these two gamer groups can only be described as iconic, " said Kestenbaum. "We invite the gaming community to come out and witness this unique Family Feud-inspired panel live during the convention."

Thousands of players will further faceoff at the convention during competitive gaming tournaments. Spotlighted for EGLX 2018, there will be tournaments for Smash Bros., CS:GO, Halo 5, Hearthstone, Street Fighter V and other fighting games. Millions of users will be able to view the live tournaments online and players will be eligible to win awards and cash prizes.

"There will be a ton of tournaments happening throughout the duration of EGLX," said Lepine. "Whether competing directly in competitions or exploring event exhibitors, guests will be able to unite with avid gamers and embrace gaming culture. We are really thrilled to offer guests the chance to play and participate."
