Global Health Experts Have Called for Rio 2016 Olympic Games to be Moved or Postponed

Health experts numbering more than 100 have called for the 2016 Olympic games in Brazil to either be postponed, or moved to a new location due to fears of the Zika Virus spreading globally.

According to a letter reportedly signed by 150 Health experts and sent to the World Health Organisation, the experts have called for the WHO to intervene with an independent committee set up to specifically give advice to the International Olympic Committee, "with a priority for science and public health, as well as the spirit of sport."

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, had concluded following their own research, that the Zika virus in pregnant women was responsible for birth defects in newborns where infants are born with abnormally small heads, and other brain issues.
