Toronto, Canada (October 6, 2016) – Moose Knuckles Canada, a brand known as much for its outlandish behavior as its outstanding outerwear, has enlisted emerging Toronto artist Trevor Wheatley to create a large scale sculpture for Holt Renfrew in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Center. The sculpture will bring to life the intriguing phrases: Private Eyes and Hold Tight. The double-sided piece will be hung at the Holt Renfrew Atrium, grabbing the attention of visitors as they enter.

Seemingly innocuous at first glance, the meaning of the phrases shifts with the viewer’s interpretation, becoming at once romantic and a bit subversive. Trevor has become known for inserting internet and urban slang phrases, writ large in 3D letters, into natural and commercial landscapes. Moose Knuckles quickly identified the young artist, who shares a similar artistic and cultural sensibility, as a kindred spirit and the perfect person to juxtapose bold statements within Holt Renfrew’s sophisticated and luxe setting.

“As a brand, we’ve always admired Trevor’s unique eye and ability to mash up the stuffy world of art and sculpture with the kind of language we all use today,” said Steph Hoff, Moose Knuckles’ Creative Director. “It has been fantastic to work with him on this piece for Holt Renfrew – a celebration of the duality of their luxury shopper and our wild ethos.”{module_webapps id="41638" filter="item" itemId="13560621"}

Holt Renfrew shoppers are invited to engage with Moose Knuckles and the sculpture itself in a social media contest for the chance to win a private feast with the artist and Chef (and Vice Network star) Matty Matheson. To enter, simply capture and share a photograph of the sculpture at Holt Renfrew Yorkdale (or of any Moose Knuckles product in Holt Renfrew stores across Canada) with the tags #eatyourheartout @mooseknucklescanada. Winners receive a private Canadiana-themed dinner party prepared by chef Matheson for themselves, ten friends and of course, the artist Trevor Wheatley. The sculpture, which debuts October 6, 2016 will remain on display until October 27, 2016. Contest winners will be notified via social media by @mooseknucklescanada by November 6, 2016.
