Import Duty On Barrels Into Montserrat Waived For Christmas Season

The Cabinet of the Government of Montserrat has approved a waiver of import duties on barrels during the Christmas season.

Instead of import duties, a blanket charge of $EC 30 will be placed on all barrels arriving at the Little Bay port over the Christmas season.

No importer will be allowed to use this measure to bring in items for resale.

Each household will be limited to two(2) barrels only.

This facility will only apply to barrels landed between 1st November 2014 and 12th January 2015 both dates inclusive.
