TORONTO, CANADA - October 31, 2018 – This November, the Jamaica Tourist Board Canada is inviting its retail partners in Ontario to an exclusive series of destination product showcase events. Running from November 6-8, 2018, these events will provide travel agents with an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in Destination Jamaica, directly from suppliers.

“Our Ontario travel agent partners will sharpen their product knowledge about the island’s best and most up-to-date offerings,” said Philip Rose, Regional Director, Jamaica Tourist Board Canada. “Through one-on-one sessions with some of Destination Jamaica’s top suppliers, travel agents will receive a full product update. From accommodations to activities and excursions, to what’s new on the culinary, festival and cultural landscape, the agents will be empowered to keep Jamaica top of mind as they sell vacation packages for the winter season and beyond.”

Coupled with a vibrant island atmosphere and delicious Jamaican cuisine, agents will get a true insight into the destination’s newest developments. The seminars will take place in London, Ontario, Ajax and Etobicoke. In each location, attendees will have the option to attend one of two sessions, 12:30pm-4pm or 5pm-8:30pm.

These seminars follow an earlier visit to Canada by Jamaica’s tourism principals, led by Director of Tourism, Donovan White and Minister of Tourism, Hon Edmund Bartlett. They met with airline executives, tour operators, travel media and influencers, reaffirming the bond between Jamaica and Canada while thanking the Canadian travel partners and travel media for engaging consumers and continuing to promote Jamaica as a prime destination for Canadians.

As a result of that visit, Canadian airlines increased their seat capacity to Jamaica for the upcoming winter to meet the high consumer demand. A total of 43,900 more seats have been added over last year, with the growth coming from Sunwing, Air Canada Vacations, Air Transat and WestJet.
