Junkanoo Carnival 2017 in Nassau, Bahamas, in its Third Year as a Main Tourism Feature

There are still two more nights to go at the Junkanoo Carnival with international artistes carded to perform on the second night to include; Michael Montano, Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons, Olatunji, Peter Ram, Sonovia Pierre, DMac, Visage and Farmer Napp.

The event kicked off on Thursday evening, May 4th, with local legends performing as a mark of respect to this uniquely Bahamian cultural expression.

The event kicked off on Thursday evening, May 4th, with local legends performing as a mark of respect to this uniquely Bahamian cultural expression. Big names who have been in the business for a long time such as Veronica Bishop, Denise Belfon, Lady E, Fanshawn, High Energy Band, Nehemiah Hield, Voice and others, all performed. 



The Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival is described as "The perfect dose of Music, Culture, and Vibe"

Visitors to the The Bahamas pour in from all over the world to relax, but whilst in the islands they also partake in the culture - the food, arts and music - of which Junkanoo sits front and centre!

Hence, the 2017 Junkanoo carnival is a focal point of the tourism calendar both in Grand Bahama, where it took place April 28 & 29, and now in Nassau, New Providence, from May 4-7, 2017.

There are still two more nights to go at the Junkanoo Carnival with international artistes carded to perform on the second night to include; Michael Montano, Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons, Olatunji, Peter Ram, Sonovia Pierre, DMac, Visage and Farmer Napp. 

On the final day a vibrant parade will take place through the streets of Nassau with the sounds and images of Junkanoo proliferating the atmosphere. The pulsating beats and the magical costumes will bring a spirit of togetherness to the capital during this street parade.

Following this, the final night will feature artistes performing to include; Beres Hammond, Avvy Willis and The Illest, Ricarddo Drue, Teddyson John, Lyrikal, Fadda Fox and Sammi Star
