Just how powerful is Taylor Swift?
The music mogul Swift, used her star power to force the soon to be launched Apple Music to change their policy on not paying artistes for music streamed during the 3-month trial period of their new streaming service set to go live on June 30, 2015.
Taylor, upon learning of Apple's policy, declared in a letter to Apple called "To Apple, Love Taylor", posted this past Sunday to her Tumblr page - she declared that she would not allow their new music streaming service to feature her album "1989".
She described the policy as "shocking, disappointing and completely unlike this historically progressive company."
She further went on to say; "These are the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we admire and respect Apple so much. "
"We simply do not respect this particular call," she further echoed.
Apple swiftly responded saying it had changed its mind, and will in fact pay artistes for music streamed during the three-month trial period.
