Montserratian Denfield "Cadett" Morris has graduated top of his class in a Microsoft Information Technology course in India.

With an 84% score in his final test, Mr Morris is now a qualified Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate(MCSA) in Windows Server 2012, and also a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

This makes him an accredited Education Computer and Network Systems Administrator and Engineer.

For the past three months – since November 2014 - Mr Morris has been studying in India at UTL Technologies Ltd.

The former Montserrat Secondary School student had also successfully completed other university courses in Computer Science in the United States before being selected for India’s ITEC scholarship programme.

Commenting on his successful completion of the course Denfield Cadett Morris said he is proud to have done his country well, despite his relative lack of experience in this particular specialism of IT.

ITEC is the Indian government’s Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme offered to the Commonwealth, Caribbean and Africa.

It is administered out of the Indian High Commission in Port of Spain Trinidad.

Montserrat is a beneficiary of the programme through the External Affairs and the Training Division of the Government of Montserrat.
