Are you a Montserratian living overseas interested in purchasing property on the island?

The Bank of Montserrat provides a full listing of all the required information you will need to present to make this purchase a reality. Also attached are the two forms you will need to download and complete for submission to the bank with your application.

Bank of Montserrat would require the following information/documentation:

PERSONAL ITEMS
Two forms of ID for you
Utility bill for proof of residence
Proof of income (Job letter, certified copies of tax returns etc…)
Statement of Affairs (attached form)
Monthly budget outlining income and expenses (attached form)
Credit Report from credit bureau

TRANSACTIONAL ITEMS

1) Valuation on property to be purchased with photographs done by an approved valuator - Charlesworth Phillip, David Hodd, Joel Osborne, Cedric Shiell, Keith Thomas or Dion Weekes

2) Letter from Vendor to include sale price

3) Copy of Land Certificate and map sheet

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/INFORMATION

Mortgage rates start at 5%
Term: 10 – 30 years (age plus mortgage term should not exceed 65 years)
Bank fees: 1.00% of loan amount
Legal fees paid to Attorney for preparing the Mortgage Charge
Minimum 20% injection into the cost of the project
