Paul Manafort and Rick Gates May Have Their House Arrest Lifted by a Federal Judge

Paul Manafort, President Trump's former campaign Chairman

Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump's former campaign Chairman and Rick Gates, Manafort's business associate, may both be released from the house arrest that was just last week imposed upon them due to Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S Presidential elections.

Information surfacing is that a U.S District Judge Amy Berman Jackson has stated that she is "inclined" to remove them both from house arrest.

Both men are alleged to have been involved in laundering funds from overseas consulting work conducted on behalf of a Ukrainian political party, then hiding the assets from the U.S. government.

The federal judge has stated that she would require more financial information from both Manafort and Gates.

Once this information has been provided Judge Jackson has indicated that she is "prepared to lift the home confinement requirement but with certain restrictions, such as a bar on international travel."

Manafort and Gates have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
