On October 17, 2016, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a one-on-one meeting with the Caliph, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. During the meeting, His Holiness and Prime Minister Trudeau discussed common concerns about global unrest and Canada’s role on the world stage.
Following his meeting with the Prime Minister, the Caliph met select government officials including Ministers Hon. Harjit Sajjan, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. Navdeep Bains, Hon. Kirsty Duncan, Hon. Mélanie Joly, Hon. Carla Qualtrough and Member of Parliament Hon. Judy Sgro.
The Caliph’s Parliament Hill visit also included meetings with Senate leadership, the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Hon. Ralph Goodale, the Chief Government Whip, Hon. Andrew Leslie, and several other officials. The Caliph also led a congregational prayer at Parliament Hill.
During his six-week tour of Canada, His Holiness will share the true, peaceful teachings of Islam with Canadians.
