The Royal Fleet Auxiliary support ship Wave Ruler will make a five-day visit to Montserrat later this week.

Government House announced Tuesday that the ship will arrive at Little Bay early on Thursday morning. The ship's crew will undertake community projects and a disaster management exercise with the DMCA, the statement read.

The ship's crew will have the opportunity to play football and volleyball against local teams on Saturday afternoon at Salem Park. They will also make a number of site visits on the island

Wave Ruler is stationed in Caribbean waters during the hurricane season to allow Britain to respond in the Overseas Territories in times of crisis in the aftermath of a storm. It has a mixture of both Merchant Navy and Royal Navy Crew.

The Wave Ruler last visited Montserrat in September 2010.
