Twas the last game of pool for the night
Competition was epic and I didn't want a fight
The bartender already warned them once before
So win or lose I'm exiting through that door
The eight ball was all aligned the pocket was called
She entered the doorway screaming as the ball falls
Rushing In my arms as if she was lost
This night of attrition is invoking a memorable cost
My sisters long lost friend Tina looking distraught as I pause
Whispered call me Kiesha a reaction this person is from Mars

Through the door came this chiseled shirtless bruiser
Fight or flight he is upset, reality is present, anger is the abuser
Collecting my winnings, she in tow, we head to the parking lot
A brawl was afoot and I decided to defend her with all I got
Pounding heartbeats it's been years since she shackled my mind
Leaving an abusive father in law, me and my juvenile love behind
She headed out of town her adolescence urged an escape
Blinded truth behind the door to her a price less than daily rape

Tonight unveiling a different woman not careless and carefree
With emotional lines not really where she wants to be
So who is Kiesha, what happened to Tina and who is he
A guy who supports and keeps a keen eye resentfully
Jealous raging lunatic but for her affection purrs on command
"An old friend get back inside no fight here" to him she demand
The conversation was refreshing as she unravelled her part
Trails of confusion buried in time stitching a wounded heart
Years of retrieving lost emotions recouping in our way
Tina is the girl inside, Kiesha is the alter ego who has to play
For sanity and satisfaction tonight Kiesha's drum beats
Deep inside Tina's heart still pounds for your retreat
