Humbly as her custom she awaits
The long line turns scraggly inside the embassy gate
Traditional burqa cover her face he couldn't see well
Disgust linking it to a disguise he said "Go to hell"
Her turbulent life blended with anger she spewed
Emancipating her religion freeing being rude
His words like water to magnesium and didn't care
In broken English and Urdu she erupted without fear
Come to where skin is massaged by shrapnel and bullets
Molten metal rotten carcass, daily dietary aromatic buffets
Yes come to hell I've been there

Ran from a dictator's bombs with my child in fright
Hid under dead carcass crossed mined plains at night
No fun running and hiding with a colicky hungry child
Where my executioners are enthused and running wild
Escaped paid a thieving pirate to get us across the ocean
The boat sank my child drowned like nature's rejection
Survival I made it ashore authorities tossed me in jail
Illegal entry no address seeking asylum hence no bail
Six months being tossed food twice a day like fenced pig
Anger hunger praying and fending off rape my daily gig
Hell is heading for second place dig

Luck came in a transfer to this place
Now you are angry worrying about my race
I'll eat legally bathe in holy water with this burqa
Do anything that is sacred if I can worship holy at Mecca
But I refuse to accept racist insults from fools and swines
Who are no more value to life than degenerated concubines
Your utterance displays your ignorance yearning for clarity
Before you eliminate because of politics or religion know me
Our faith for centuries wrap a wall of inferiority teachings
Hatred like love comes in every religion just worth reaching
So before you send me to hell I've been there beseeching
