Wondering through my mind's eye seeking religion
In contempt yet with faith I harken to tradition
Is it blasphemy that I do not care to go to confession
Sitting in a desolate room of my prison
Uttering words of my wrong-doing to a curtain
Lamenting of my tribulation to a man behind a window
A conceived thought that he handles the boundary line
With stern direction as to my passage way to the unknown
A will to pardon my demise from that eternal damnation
Yes born again spiritually but still flesh and blood
Is it blasphemy

Is it blasphemy to not see any nation as chosen or as superior
Knowing all men and women are equal save for gender
Accepting the right to escape hell is controlled by the teaching
Where as all teaching points to one supreme being
Repentance can cancel damnation instantly or in time
Some teachings say by fasting praying or doing good deeds
Like a brilliantly colored stew with an appetizing aroma
Handed down from that book that teaches for generations with fervor
And if somethings in all of these teachings I do not agree
Is it blasphemy

Is it blasphemy that my viewpoint got lost in translation
The right of word fluxation amid mix interpretation
Can lead a righteous one to bountiful condemnation
Not because of sinful thought but a teaching that was obscured
For variations to appease rulers and control wealth
Not condescending but some religion controls financial health
It's a good thing that we believe in just one the Most High
And a good old fashion accepting and praying gets us by
Believing in something we cannot see
Oh no please tell me that's not blasphemy
