The moonlight twinkles between the branches he stands in wait
The clock ticks slowly the hours go by it was not too late
She promised she'll be there irrespective of the consequence
But when the clock struck twelve his mannerism got tense
She left him standing waiting once before
That's when she exited without saying bye through his door
Finding fondness in another man's arm at first he denied
But when days go by and she never returned oh how he cried
He beseeched her to come back but she refused
So he settled to be the keeper man and didn't mind being used

His staunch unchanged personality swung to humble
Lost in her maze of want his demeanor was but a mere fumble
He trod through days envisioning what the other man is enjoying
Quivering for he had a robust appetite for seductive role playing
Assuming that every man has the same attitude as he did
His entangled mind left him sad withdrawn and morbid
So when she did not show up for this precise secluded date
Rigidity engulfs his ways he swore no more can he wait
He cried inside when he remembers how she enjoyed the dirty ride
The way she begs for full manifestation deep inside
It's that unchained back door relaxation that says chance it one more
He bowed his head and sobbed for quitting is never sure

This is their point of rendezvous noisy crickets laughing with glee
Last time here frolicking maneuvering he got a bruised knee
The night wind stirs up as in his head a midnight chill
He turned to walk away hoping she'll be coming still
Like an old movie memory flows of one night their river bank ecstasy
Someone shone a light her loud groans was interrupting their intimacy
Accepting being the keeper man requires unflinching honesty
Ability to shutter pain she's not coming tonight but neither is he
Knowing he can't administer love like before if she comes knocking
For secrets are too many and in time trust will be flailing
Struggling through his thoughts is right now he can pound a nail
Reality lies in each step of loneliness this night the keeper man fails
