Sitting alone in this restaurant in the back having supper
Suddenly a flash and the sound of a camera shutter
She was facing me speaking with a smile somewhat jovial
"I hope you don't mind I did not seek your approval"
Venturing over beckoning to sit beside me
Without approval she sat interrupting my serenity
Lathering me with compliments displaying admiration
Skeptical but nevertheless accepting this spontaneous attraction
After a long interesting conversation we crossed the street to a bar
Adoration with touching a little inebriated things got too far

Confused by the fortitude of life
I stopped and consumed the consensual hype
Did I say yes along the way or did she, was there consent
Was it the alcohol did we accept what that meant
Instantaneous action driven by alcohol has been criticized
Romance is drifting to the main road on its way to be minimized
For society requires total consent not "uh huh" but yes or no
If the word "stop" occurs along the way it's a no go
Caution has an anchor and displeasure can be rape
It's sobering to realize careless pleasure can cross a red tape

Irresponsible balancing act blaming alcohol or other dependency
Is the route cause of a lifetime of shame death and pregnancy
That juvenile thinking personnel in the mirror seeks not the blame
Intoxicated honest desperate mind knows no shame
When the morality flag rises it's easy to criticize not being involve
But everyone does not read tarot cards hence problems are unsolved
One moment of relinquishing caution now I'm asking why me
Yesterday she informed me she was nauseous I pray not for fertility
One more week biting my nails hoping her cycle she will see
Ne'er once would the sight of blood be such a blessing, Lord let it be
