Spoken Word: Sublime

Climb up, reach, and touch the stars.
It's easy they tell her, and it ain't that far!
She tries to reach the moon,
She tries to catch the sun
for just a tiny spark of happiness,
a little bit of fun.

She caught darkness, pain, hurt, and loss,
and now her countenance is downcast
because the effort was not worth the cost.
"Lift me up", she begs, "help me out", she pleaded.

Where are you mother,
where are you sister,
where are you brother,
where were you when you were needed?

Abandoned, and alone she took the climb.
Every step motivated by rage, anger,
disappointment, and disregard.
But in the end she emerged, SUBLIME!
