'Twas Ten in the morning and he was heavily intoxicated
Sitting like a man down on his luck heavily medicated
Seeking a route 'cause his revelation left me astonished
Relinquishing info with stipulation that I take heed to what he admonished
Regret seemed like a mantra to his conversation of luggage
He continued, never take your lover for granted especially after marriage
She was not just my wife, my spouse, my tagged lawful companion
Search deeper, amid nagging and caring circumstance we were a union

After marriage I danced on the threshold of neglect like a contortionist
No longer holding hands, opening doors, kissing goodbyes, a conformist
I was a married man now my job was to provide and support and I did
Things like flowers, trips, and love letters I was much too candid
She was so damn gorgeous just to have her was all my masculine wish
Not just an appetizer she was a full course meal and take away main dish
When she pointed out my lack of open appreciation and not opening doors
I gestured that it was her imagination and my manly thoughts were pure
When she threatened to walk away I denied my marriage was comfortable
Leaving for any other reason than deeming if neglect was acceptable

Her continuous search for my attention was like sand on the ocean floor
Imagine my astonishment when I found the goodbye note on my door
She left me, the state, the house, everything; threatening if I follow I'll be arrested
The screaming silence of an empty house, even her nagging gladly will be solicited
She took nothing thereby the burden on my conscience is overbearing
My love, my heart, my internal being has been removed I'm but a shell uncaring
She said I took her for granted but I thought I gave her the space she wanted
I can't stay home, those doors are like the catacombs to a broken heart
The bottom of this bottle is where my mistake and reality seem to start
Like a female dog I'll lick a mile of shame and disgust on any city block
If it is a guaranteed antidote of getting her back that'll bring me luck
