Spoken Word: The Plunge

The ridge was threatening but she was daring. Taking an instant plunge, smooching was accepting. The crickets chirped in the background

Atop this mountain range
Soft Caribbean breeze caressing loins not strange
He’s in search of a good time
Her hopes catapulted, this is for a lifetime
Raising the stakes for his words were smooth
Desperate heart pounding she found him cute
As bodies press interactions like toaster
Sparkling lights in the distance seem to get closer

The ridge was threatening but she was daring
Taking an instant plunge smooching was accepting
The crickets chirped in the background
As dogs barked indicating there’s someone around
The intentions similar but the goals diverse
A beautiful night to be had but after all he’ll traverse
Too good to be true that cliche’ was for reasoning
Infatuated, her mind leap-frogged into belonging

How could a beautiful cloudless blue sky be so far
It’s a bottle of your favorite scotch still capped at the bar
Playing with her mind sensing desperation, he teased
Offering his soul, she seeks comfort he seeks release
Pressuring his desire her feelings are worn with time
Totally against her principles but bending is not a crime
A ratcheted moment of bliss that joy ignited with a kiss
Wavering on the threshold of passion and what she’ll miss
She acquiesce without giving prudence a try
Their naked bodies writhed and collapse under the night sky
