Sprint Champion Usain Bolt, has been shortlisted as a contender for the men's IAAF World Athlete of the Year Award.

Also shortlisted are Ashton Eaton and Christian Taylor.

Ashton set a record score of 9045, winning a second successive World Championship decathlon gold medal. He also set a record time of 45 seconds in the 400 meter race.

Taylor's nomination comes on the back of him winning gold in the triple jump in Beijing with a record jump of 18.21m.

In terms of Usain Bolt, his double victory in the 100M and 200m in Beijing during the summer, plus his victory as part of the Jamaican 4x100 sprint team, has seen him being nominated to possibly claim the title of male athlete of the year for a sixth time.
