San Juan, June 28: Jamaican sprint sensation, Usain Bolt, will not be participating in the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Senior Championship.

Bolt's agent, Rick Simms, said Bolt was not "confirmed" to take part in the Jamaican trials for Beijing, but had signed up only "to have the option" to run.

Bolt, who is a six-time Olympic champion is already guaranteed a spot on the Jamaican national team competing in the August 22-30 World Championships in Beijing, where he was expected to defend his 100 metre and 200m titles.

His competition on the Jamaica National Team would have been other big names such as Asafa Powell, Yohan Blake, Kemar Bailey-Cole, Nesta Carter and Nickel Ashmeade, according to reports in Jamaican media.

A spokesperson for the JAAA declined to provide comment on Usain's withdrawal.
