The Ramada St Kitts, which broke ground for the construction of phase 1 in September, 2014, is looking ahead to its official opening later this year.

Groundbreaking for the resort was held on September 16, 2014 with then St Kitts and Nevis' Prime Minister the Rt Hon Dr Denzil L Douglas and his Minister of Tourism, Sen the Hon Richard "Ricky" Skerritt, participating in the ceremony.

Photos taken on Friday 12, July 2019, show the lobby with the Ramada signature prominently displayed.

Phase 1 of 273-rooms includes condos, garden villas and spa villas, as well as two multifunctional conference rooms,” Tang Jiang, Vice President of Overseas Development for Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate said recently.

Phase II construction of the Ramada began in May, Mr. Tang stated, and when completed that will increase the number of rooms to 603. Additionally, he reported that there will be facilities such as pavilions that allow guests to enjoy the spectacular sunsets on the northern side of the island, a wooden deck stretching over the side of a cliff, and a water park for family fun will be built.

Investment agents were recently given a tour of the project and were able to get a first-hand impression of the enticing atmosphere that it will become.

“The project will provide hundreds of employment opportunities for tradesmen and other local people in the design and construction phase, and will provide many long-term employment opportunities in its operational phase,” said Dr. Denzil Douglas, who is also the Parliamentary Representative for St Paul's Parish.

Dr. Douglas said in 2014, that he was pleased to see St. Kitts and Nevis attract more and more high-end development projects leading to sustainable employment and business opportunities for many local people and businesses.
