Steadroy Cabey-Duberry is an aspiring professional actor who has set his sights on mastering and becoming successful within his chosen art-form. Born on the Caribbean island of Montserrat, Steadroy moved to the United Kingdom where he pursued and attained a degree in Accounting & Finance from De Montford University. Acting, however, has always been a love of his, and it is to this end that even though doing the rigours of his daily 9-5 job, Steadroy is following through on his acting ambitions having enrolled in one of London's top acting schools, Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance.
His acting experience so far has seen him gain roles as an extra in films and commercials. Also, he has played lead role in a few short films. (Some of which are featured within this piece.) Having viewed some of these short films that Steadroy has acted in, it is beyond evident that this young man has a vast pool of acting talent; talent that showcases itself effortlessly on the screen. Steadroy's engagement, range, believability and his total unawareness of the camera being in front of him when performing, puts this young man on a path that can potentially be limitless.
It is in the villages of Streathams and Long Ground on the island of Montserrat that Steadroy grew up. He shares in a recent interview that his first taste of acting was whilst at school and also through church where he took part in skits.
It is his strong foundation, rooted in the outward expressions of his culture and heritage that he experienced whilst growing up, that has made him the focused young man that he is today. It is these experiences also that serve to propel him in his acting pursuits. Without a doubt, the energy that Steadroy is exerting now developing himself as a young professional and an actor are exemplary examples for any young person seeking to realise their goals to emulate.
