Fear-mongering politics is a tactic used by politicians on the campaign trail in many elections. It is often distorted information that is devoid of facts and clarity, designed to mislead the electorate by those seeking their votes.
The Port Project for Montserrat is one that the MCAP party contesting the 2019 elections on Montserrat, have stated many times on repeat, will not happen. That is untruthful.
The facts are that phase 1 of the Port project on Montserrat will be funded to the tune of £21.5 million pounds, with the major agencies funding the project being The Caribbean Development Bank via their Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund (UKCIF), and the European Union via the European Development Fund EDF11.
