In January 2016, Marketing, News & Information Media - MNI Alive Media ran a story, complete with images, and video representations of road improvement works that were commenced in the Nixons/Banks area of Montserrat, by the Ministry of Communications, Works, Labour & Energy, (MCWL), led astutely by The Honourable Minister Paul Lewis.
Today, MNI Alive Media wishes to revisit this story by way of an update in featuring a short video presentation on works that have re-convened to complete the road improvement, but this time for the benefit of the people living in the Banks region of that particular vicinity.
The road we showcased back in January was completed as far as the steep hill in the Nixons area approaching Banks. However, Hon Minister Lewis had given assurances that MCWL would seek to complete the remainder of the road works in the Banks area.
This work has now commenced. However, MCWL has teamed up with the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF), to have this road completed. With BNTF and MCWL working together on this project, private contractors have been put to work, and also the road improvement works for the Nixons/Banks area that was ignored for years, is now being improved to better the living condition of citizens residing in that area.
