With the recent rise in political tension in Montserrat, increase in burglaries, allegations of rape and constant outcries of the residents on Montserrat, Shamracq put pen to paper and used his voice as a medium to tell us “WHAT’S THE ISSUE.”

Shamracq whose given name is Shamar Gowe, was born in Jamaica and moved to the Emerald Isle, Montserrat, in 2013.

He immediately gravitated to the resident music scene, working with the home-grown producers and engineers, performing at various events and even taking part in the annual calypso completion.

When asked why he wrote “WHATS THE ISSUE” he had this to say: “I want to be a voice for the voiceless, while it is common place to speak about murderers and thieves many are afraid to talk about the money laundering, bribery, corruption and fraud, all of which are unlawful but done on a daily basis by the big guys in society or white collar criminals. I also wanted to highlight the issues of discrimination and prejudice; too many times opportunities are withheld from individuals based on class, race, sex and nationality when truth be told there are only two types of people in the world —good and bad people.”

Shamracq is planning to release an ep in the near future and encourages all of his fans to follow him on social media for updates and new music.
