White Van In Toronto, Canada, Drives into Crowd Hitting 8 Then Fleeing the Scene

A van, in the north of Toronto, Canada, on Monday April 23rd, 2018, has struck at least 10 pedestrians.

The van is said to be a white van that jumped the curb in Toronto, when it ploughed into the pedestrians. The incident took place at the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area. Police have reported that they now have the driver of the van in custody.

The incident took place just as ministers from the various G7 countries were gathered in Toronto to discuss a range of international matters in the lead up to the G7 meeting near Quebec in June.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has expressed condolences.

"Our hearts go out to everyone affected," Prime Minister Trudeau stated.
