A pelvic injury has forced World Record Holder and Olympic Champion, Usain Bolt, to withdraw from the Diamond League Sports meet in both Paris and Lausanne next month.

This latest news, as is being reported widely by various media outlets, follows on from Bolt’s recent withdrawal from the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Senior Championships.

Bolt is seeking to regain 100% fitness before resuming his full training schedule. He is due to undergo treatment in Germany on a blocked sacroiliac joint in his pelvis. This injury has stopped him from being able to compete at full capacity, as his movement is restricted as a result.

Commenting on his recent fitness woes, Bolt is reported to have mentioned his "disappointment at not being able to compete in Paris and Lausanne."

He further stated; "I love running at these meetings but at the moment I am unable to compete at 100%. I look forward to getting back into full training as soon as possible."

Bolt is however expected to defend both his 100m and 200m titles at the World Championships in China, during August.
