This following outlines the procedure for persons from countries whose citizens require a visa to visit Trinidad and Tobago for a temporary purpose, such as tourism, business, or visiting family or friends. Visa applicants must satisfy a visa-issuing officer that their stay in Trinidad and Tobago will be temporary. Visitors are usually granted a single-entry visa valid for one entry to Trinidad and Tobago. Please note that the Immigration Department reserves the right to grant or refuse a visa.
Who needs a visa?
To find out if you need a visa, consult the list of countries below. Citizens of the countries listed below do not require a visa to enter Trinidad and Tobago. If your country is NOT LISTED below then YOU REQUIRE a visa to enter Trinidad and Tobago.
- Nationals of The People’s Republic of China, The Republic of China (Taiwan), Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam, Asian, African, Middle-East and Far-East countries require a visa.
- If you are a Landed Immigrant in Canada but also a national of a country whose citizens require a visa to enter Trinidad and Tobago, you will need a visa to visit Trinidad & Tobago.
- Holders of United Kingdom passports, and member countries of the European Union do not require visas to visit Trinidad and Tobago.
How do I apply for a visa?
Complete the visa application form, provide all documents listed below and the relevant fee payable via money order. The completed application can be submitted in person or sent via mail to the office of the Consulate General for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Applications with all supporting documents must be submitted at least ten (10) working days prior to departure, except for applications from nationals of the following countries: The People’s Republic of China, The Republic of China (Taiwan), Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam, Asian, African, Middle-East and Far-East countries which must be submitted four (4) weeks prior to departure.
Can I extend my visit to Trinidad & Tobago?
