The Government of Montserrat is seeking to recruit a Technical ICT Legal Support Consultant to provide technical legal support services to ensure that all legislation governing ICT in Montserrat is reviewed and updated and new legislation is introduced where necessary, to cement Montserrat’s status as an ICT-driven jurisdiction on par with regional and international frameworks.

CANDIDATES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE PROFILE

It is envisaged that the Technical ICT Legal Consultant will have:
• a Law Degree and a Legal Education Certificate from a recognised University;
• a Diploma or Masters in Legislative Drafting;
• at least 5 years’ experience in the review, and analysis of Legislative Frameworks within the Region and internationally;
• at least 5 years’ experience as a legislative drafter in a Commonwealth jurisdiction;
• background knowledge of the operations of governments and the field of governance;
• Strong presentation, communication and report writing skills;
• Computer skills: word processing, presentations;
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
