Five Caribbean Fashion Blogs/Websites To Follow
Category: Fashion Created on Saturday, 09 April 2011 08:25 Written by Vita Wade
Here are a few Caribbean fashion blogs/websites that you should bookmark now! These publications were created by people who are passionate about the region's fashion scene and are pioneering in their efforts to explore the definition of Caribbean Fashion. They allow us to keep up to date with how international trends and individuals guide the fashion culture of our region.
1.CF Style: http://www.cfstyle.com/
Caribbean Fashion Style Journal is the go to source for what is currently happening on the Caribbean fashion scene. It covers news, beauty tips, new talent, photo galleries and more. CF Style is playing a lead role in the promotion of Caribbean Fashion throughout the region and beyond.
2. Esther-Lee:http://estherhlee.blogspot.com/
Esther Lee is a Fashion Editor for She Caribbean. She is also a Stylist and Writer from St. Lucia, currently living between New York and London. She is always on the look out for 'New York Chic' with a dash of 'London Cool' and 'Caribbean Attitude', this is definitely one to follow!
3. JB Style Zone: http://jbstylezone.blogspot.com/?spref=fb
This blog was created by JB(JAMES BLACK), designer of female clothing brand YC(Yahdie Conscious). JB Style Zone covers the latest in Jamaican dancehall fashion while keeping a close eye on current international fashion influences. This blog is unique as it is created and run by a designer who was born, raised and is living on the island of Jamaica.
4. Kingston Style: http://www.kingstonstyle.com/
I featured Kingston Style a few months ago right here on MNI Alive. Created by photographer BiggyBigz, this photoblog highlights some of the hottest street fashions from Kingston, Jamaica. Voted best art/photography blog, 2010
5. Au Courant Daily: http://www.AuCourantDaily.com/
This is one of the best up and coming online publications and the brainchild of Trinbagonian Lisa Marie Harris. This Parsons grad has a "weakness for Caribbean, Pan-African, tropical & far-flung designers" and this is reflected in what you will find at Au Courant Daily. But what is really exciting is the much anticipated relaunch of MY.CG ( My Caribbean Gateway ) currently residing on tumblr at http://my-cg.tumblr.com/. By Fall of this year MY.CG will be host to original editorials, audio & video, interviews, features and other unexpected delights from our region.
If there are any sites that I haven't include, we would love to know - just tell us in the comments!
