Washington, DC is often thought of as being very serious and uptight, but its abundance of arts and culture and its immense talent prove that that could not be further from the truth.
Here are some of the city’s most anticipated events this season:
The DC Jazz Festival
August 28-September 1
The DC JazzFest at the Wharf is one of the premier music festivals in the nation, drawing enthusiasts from around the world every year over Labour Day Weekend. This year’s event, which will take place from August 28-September 1, marks the 20th anniversary of the lineup features an array of local international jazz talent and artists, offering a dynamic fusion of styles and sounds. Set against iconic backdrops like the Kennedy Center and the vibrant neighborhoods of U Street and Shaw, the festival is more than just a musical event; it's a cultural experience.

Endless Story by OSGEMEOS at the Hirshhorn Museum
Opening September 29
Brazilian twins Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo, better known by their artist name, OSGEMEOS (Portugueuse for “the twins”), will bring their exhibit Endless Story to the third floor of the Hirshhorn Museum from September 29, 2024 to August 3, 2025. The show brings about 1,000 works of art, photos and archival material to highlight their life, career and development of their artistic expression inspired by Urban Brazil. It will include large-scale paintings, monumental sculptures, and installations like "The Moon Room" and "The Tritrez Altar," alongside rarely seen drawings and a colossal zoetrope.

The People’s House, a White House Experience

All eyes may be on the White House this fall in anticipation of the election, but visitors can experience an all-new, state of the art, immersive exhibit, The People’s House, a White House Experience just steps away from the landmark building itself. The new permanent exhibit will offer insight into the history, the legacy and the global impact of The White House through a multidisciplinary collection of rooms and recreations. Highlights include the chance to go behind the desk of the full-scale replica of the Oval Office and an interpretation the famed White House Rose Garden.
