American Airlines, as the exclusive air travel sponsor for Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT), helps the dance company accomplish its mission of reaching diverse communities and ever-expanding national audiences by supporting DBDT’s national touring during its 46th season. Destinations include venues from the West to the East Coast, and from the Southern states to Canada.

The tour included appearances at prestigious dance festivals in New York City and New Haven, Connecticut at the SummerStage Dance Festival, the Battery Dance Festival, and the International Festival of Arts and Ideas.
The 46th season tour includes full evening concert performances, workshops, lecture demonstrations, student matinees, and master classes at White Bird in Portland, Oregon, Los Angeles, California, Vashon Island, Washington, The University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, Hope College in Holland, Michigan, and Point Park University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. DBDT will make its 21st appearance at the Prince George’s Publick Playhouse in Cheverly, Maryland this season.
In January 2023, the 46th season tour takes Dallas Black Dance Theatre dancers to Toronto, Canada to perform during the 33rd International Association of Blacks in Dance Festival and Conference.
In addition to American Airlines providing air travel across the U.S. and to Canada, the airline’s support enables Dallas Black Dance Theatre to travel across Texas with destinations in Houston, Odessa, Laredo, Austin, Midland, San Angelo, and San Antonio.
Dallas Black Dance Theatre kicks off its 46th home season with DanceAfrica October 7-8, 2022, at the Moody Performance Hall. DanceAfrica includes a FREE Saturday Festival and Marketplace at Klyde Warren Park from 10 am – 2 pm featuring family friendly fun with fun, food, vendors and main stage entertainment.
