Part boat cruise, part poker game, all party. Anguilla’s Poker Run is returning for its 7th annual incarnation on Saturday, August 12th, 2023. The Run defies simple description, but we’ve endeavoured to break down the glorious chaos as best we can below.
Poker Run is what you get when you take 100 speed boats, crew them with good friends, and promise everyone a good time. Boats depart from Sandy Ground then complete a circular gauntlet, disembarking at some of the finest beaches and offshore cays before returning to the starting point. The catch? Each beach offers its own roaring party, complete with live music, games, dance contests, competitions, and - of course - poker!
Highlights of some of the previous years include hot wings challenges, water sliding, beer drinking contests, team relay races, and the loudest crew competition. Live DJ performances create the perfect vibe as crews bounce between Crocus Bay, Rendezvous Bay, Meads Bay, and Little Bay for a progressively crazier series of parties!
Participants can buy into the poker games either individually or in team formats. There are plenty of prizes to win, with the day’s best poker hand taking home $5000. For lovers of nautical nonsense, beach bashes, and poker in paradise, Poker Run has quickly become one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year.
Visitors looking to get in on the fun can either register their own boat and crew or join an existing one. As crazy as the day can get, Poker Run has a spotless safety track record - owing to both comprehensive safety regulations and responsible boating practices.
