It has been announced by the Council of the European Union that holders of BOTC passports who previously required visas to visit the Schengen countries in Europe will now no longer need such visas from the end of June 2014.

The Schengen countries are:-

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.

The new regulations mean that BOTC passport holders will, in future, have visa free access to visit some 28 countries across Europe.

Holders of BOTC passports are asked to note that the French and Dutch Caribbean islands are not considered to be Schengen countries under the new arrangements and therefore the new visa rules do not apply to them.
