MINDEN, Nev. (July 17, 2018) – The Aviation Roundup, held at the Minden-Tahoe Airport in northern Nevada Oct. 13 - 14, 2018, is an exciting and action-packed event for the entire family. Children and teens will have rare opportunities to get up-close to U.S. Navy Blue Angels aircraft, other show planes, and even get behind the controls of a full-motion aircraft simulator.

During the Aviation Roundup, young adults, teens and children alike will be inspired and awed at the Minden-Tahoe Airport ‘hot box’ where aircraft will be roaring and refueling. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels’ very own C-130 cargo plane, Fat Albert, will be parked for spectators to view. Static planes will be displayed throughout the airport for a firsthand view of the exciting aircraft. The MaxFlight flight simulator will offer a life-like sensation of flying a demonstration plane, complete with rolls, upside down flight and vertical climbs.

“Producing airshows is a lot of work, but year after year, I return. What motivates me is inspiring the next generation of pilots and crews,” said Bobbi Thompson, Aviation Roundup Producer and Minden-Tahoe Airport Manager. “Seeing a young person turn his or her sights to the sky is a wonderful reward for a year’s worth of commitment.”
