Boring Classroom… or Gap Semester in Asia? No Brainer.

Introducing the third module of the Going Beyond: Gap Semester program. It's one of the most long-awaited regions since the travel bans - Asia! Yeah…college can wait.

You’ll choose between a variety of different volunteer and internship programs over 10 weeks: Microfinance, Childcare, Teaching, Building, Public Health, and Wildlife Conservation. When you are not working on meaningful projects, have a peaceful saunter through the ancient temples of Cambodia and the highest mountain peaks in the world in the Himalayas of Nepal.

Going Beyond Gap Semesters have all the support of our local staff guides and a structured, hassle-free itinerary while still allowing plenty of free-time for spontaneity and independence. You can even combine trips together to create an even longer experience across the world!

OgAP - Sara’s Gap Year Experience

OgAP?? “Old Age Pensioners Gap Year”! A term coined by Sara herself, and a perfect model for the “never too late” mindset. Sara has posted Part One of her blog outlining her year volunteering for various Projects Abroad initiatives around the world.

“I had chosen to volunteer in countries that I had not been to before and to join projects that were as diverse as possible from one another,” Sara says, and that’s what we like to see!

In Part One, Sara discusses the circumstances leading to her trip, Projects Abroad Staff Support, the first leg of her trip helping refugees, and making lovely new friends while navigating the bustling, vibrant city of Guadalajara, Mexico.

You can also read testimonials from other alumni on our website. Where will you be inspired to go in 2022?
