The Prime Minister elect of Antigua and Barbuda is, Hon Gaston Browne. This has been confirmed following the final tally of votes on election day 2014 in the twin island nation.
Outgoing Prime Minister, Hon Baldwin Spencer conceded defeat and acknowledged that power will now be in the hands of the one time opposition party, The Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP).
Spencer's United Progressive Party (UPP), has ruled Antigua & Barbuda for the past ten years, having won the previous two elections. Prime Minister Spencer in his concession speech revealed that the election results were not what he had expected, but he accepts the will of the people, via their vote on June 12, 2014.
Additionally, Prime Minister Spencer is reported to have told incoming Prime Minister Browne that he “looks forward to the ABLP governing this country in the interest of the people.”
